Online ordering options available for Clark County SNAP recipients
SPRINGFIELD, OH (April 27, 2020) — The Clark County Department of Job and Family Services has confirmed five local retail locations have stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic and now have added the SNAP Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card option for online ordering.
SNAP recipients will be able to use the online ordering service to order their food and pick up curbside or in some cases inside the store. The recipient may be able to pay outside if the retailer has the mobile point-of-sale device or the recipient may have to go inside to pay to pick up their order. These options do assist with limiting the contact with other people and having to spend a lot of time in the store shopping for the selections.
The following retailers have confirmed that they are providing this service in Clark County:
Walmart: Bechtle Avenue and Tuttle Road locations.
Kroger: Bechtle Avenue, Derr Road and East Main Street locations.

The entryway in Building A and in Building D will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm to pick up forms and to drop off paperwork and payment (check or money order). There are drop off boxes outside of Building A and Building D where you can drop off paperwork and payment (check or money order) at any time. You can still use the forms that are on www.clarkdjfs.org.
ODJFS extending SNAP benefits for six months
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is extending all SNAP benefit recertifications due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recipients do not need to call the Agency for a recertification appointment for the months of March, April and May of 2020. Benefits will be automatically extended for six months and recipients will receive an extension notice.
If benefits expired effective March 31, 2020 because a recertification appointment wasn’t completed, benefits will be automatically reopened for six months.
If you received a notification for a recertification appointment for the month of April 2020, please disregard. SNAP benefits will be automatically extended for six months during this state of emergency for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interim reports are not required for SNAP during March, April, and May.
PRC funds available for social distancing supplies
The State of Ohio has made available limited funds for COVID-19 related Prevention, Retention, Contingency (PRC) funds for households with a minor child or an individual who is the non-custodial parent of a minor and is complying with Child Support.
Applications may be completed and submitted on the CCDJFS website (click here). Paper applications are available in the entry to Buildings A and D from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. daily.
Households approved will receive a check in the mail of $100.00 to help provide for social distancing/stay at home supplies. This is a one-time benefit. It does not count towards the family/individual PRC cap.
Applications available at Clark County DJFS during order
During the “Stay at Home Order," effective Friday, March 27, 2020, the Clark County Department of Job and Family services will have paper applications for all programs available for pick up in Building A and Building D from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Documents may be left in the external drop boxes at any time.
Staff are processing all applications during the “Stay at Home Order.” Customers should make sure we have a current mailing address and phone number on file.
Calls will be returned but due to high volume, there may be a delay. Please do not leave multiple messages.
To report Child or Elder Abuse/Neglect call 937-327-1700, select option 8 and leave message. If a child or elder is in immediate danger, call dispatch at 937-328-2560.

The Clark County Department of Job and Family Services will no longer be processing any in-person appointments, effectively, 4:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 17 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All applications for benefits and services will be handled via telephone, email and on-line. Limited exceptions will be made for specific Family and Children Services work.
Staff will still be working either from within the agency or from home and services such as food assistance, medical assistance, child support payments and children and adult services referrals will continue without interruption.
These steps are being taken as precautionary measures to ensure essential government services continue.
Paper applications for programs may be picked up and dropped off at each of the agency’s main entrances. Receipts will not be given at time of drop off, but an acknowledgement will be mailed to the applicant.
